Vaillant ecoTEC Plus F32 fault code, no heating or hot water
This is a clip from a first generation(2005 – 2011) Vaillant ecoTEC Plus Combi boiler with the F32 fault code.
The F32 fault code generally means that there is an issue with the fan.
If the printed circuit board on the boiler doesn’t detect the fan running or if it doesn’t spin at the required speed, the boiler will shut down and display the F.32 fault code.
Your boiler may work intermittently, but generally once you see the F32 fault code it won’t go away, even if you try to reset the boiler.
This will leave you without heating or hot water.
A tip for homeowners to potentially save some money when calling someone out to have a look at your broken boiler.
If your Vaillant boiler breaks over a weekend or holiday with the F32 fault, and you desperately need it repairing, and are calling someone out to have a look, ask them if they carry the fan as spares, as that’s more than likely what your boiler will need to continue working.
It’s possible it’s a failed printed circuit board or something else, but in our experience it’s more than likely the fan that has failed.
If whoever is coming out to have a look at your boiler doesn’t carry the fan you will likely need, then you are probably just going to pay someone a call out fee, only to be told that you need a fan but they don’t have one and they will come back the following week anyway.
